Wool & Wicker is a yarn and basket retail store that has been open since May 1998 in the historic fishing village of Steveston, a community in Richmond, BC, Canada. We offer the beginner and passionate knitter a wide variety of yarns for all tastes and budgets. We carry yarns by many different manufacturers in all weights and fibers for knitting, crochet and weaving projects.  To see the lines we carry, go to our yarns section.  Extensive selection of old and new knitting books and magazines, Lantern Moon and other decorator baskets and bags, Della Rae bags and knitting needle holders, "Skacel's" Addi Turbo knitting needles and their Zitron and Schulana yarns, the "Circular Solution" for storage of your circular needles, Clover knitting accessories, Eucalan, Blue Moon and Renaissance buttons,  a full line of locally made all natural wool Padraig slippers, from newborn to xlarge mens www.padraigcottage.ca and many other knitting needs.

We do mail order. All of our yarns are available by the ball. Prices will be found in the yarn price list. We also offer a wide range of group classes. Our shop is the "Linus Project" drop-off station for the lower mainland. To learn more about this fabulous organization, see projectlinus.org, if you can't get involved by knitting, crocheting, sewing or quilting blankets for children in need, we could use some helpful hands in preparing the blankets which we receive from our generous and loving donors for pickup.  The ladies meet here in the store every second Friday of the month in the afternoon to sew on labels and wrap them with ribbon.  Call first if you want to make sure there are some blankets for you to work on.  Or, you could bring your knitting/crochet project and chat/knit with the other ladies, maybe work on a blankie with company?  We also would love to accept donations of yarns or materials suitable for the blanket makers.  While you are here, become a "Passion Knitter's Club" card carrier, and accumulate purchases for discounts and a once a year draw for a $50 gift certificate for the store.

The store is located in Steveston, a nostalgic refuge and historic fishing village in the southwest corner of Richmond, twenty minutes from the Vancouver airport, on the Gulf of Georgia. Take No.1 Road south of Steveston Highway, turn right at Chatham and then left on Second Avenue. We are halfway down the block on the right hand side. Look for the painted scene window.  Park behind building if no space available. If you have little ones, I have a small children's room. Leave yourself time to visit the fresh fish dock, the local park and playground, and shop the unique gift, book toy and fashion stores, or tour the Gulf of Georgia Cannery. Try dinner at one of our many wonderful restaurants and wear off the calories with a stroll around Garry Point Park to watch the sunset, the kite flyers and the boats along the Fraser River.  Be sure to take in the new Farmers and Artisan's Market every other Sunday from 11-3PM from May until September. For more info see www.sfam.ca.

Our store hours are: Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 5:30 pm; Sunday and Monday, 12:00 - 5:00PM. If you are coming from out of town, hours can be flexible if you can't make it during regular business hours, as the shop is open for some evening classes. Please contact us to book an appointment, if you can only make the visit in the evening after hours.
